History and info about Urbana Physical Therapy

Our Philosophy

When Chris Cotter, PT founded Urbana Physical Therapy in 1989, he wanted to start a practice in which people mattered and patients came first.  He wanted to create an environment in which each person felt valued and cared for and got the undivided attention they needed to achieve full recovery.  He wanted a practice in which patients were treated on time, avoiding long delays sitting in a waiting room.  The simple philosophy has been the foundation for the phenomenal success of Urbana Physical Therapy.

Our Facility

Urbana Physical Therapy has grown from a small office of about 600 sq ft to a state-of-the-art facility of over 6,500 sq ft.  The building includes a large gym, a heated therapeutic pool, and seven private treatment rooms.  Patients often comment on how “light and airy” the building feels and what a pleasure it is to come to such a pleasant, well-equipped, and well decorated facility.

Our Promise to You

"No matter how busy it gets, you will always get the same personal attention we give everyone.  You will never be left alone, unsupervised in the gym.  You will always receive individualized treatment from a licensed physical therapist or physical therapist assistant.  You will never be treated by a non-licensed aide.  And we will always begin and end your treatment on time.  That’s our promise!"   -Chris Cotter, PT
